Irish children may have been given animal vaccine for whooping cough

Just remember…many have said that chiropractic care is unsafe and unproven by scientific methods. Go figure…

Imperfect vaccines and the evolution of pathogen virulence – (12-17-01)

July 7, 2013 by James Bogash

Imperfect vaccines and the evolution of pathogen virulence

This issue has been of some concern lately, especially with the measles vaccine. The body’s immunity to an infection (active immunity) is much stronger than that derived from vaccination (passive immunity). This could cause problems if a particularly virulent strain of infectious disease comes along that the passive immunity is not strong enough to handle.

Predicted Mercury Concentrations in Hair From Infant Immunizations – (05-23-02)

June 17, 2013 by James Bogash

Predicted Mercury Concentrations in Hair From Infant Immunizations

For those parents blindly leading their little sheep to the slaughter, this article should raise some very, very important concerns. Essentially, no one ever thought to look at the levels of mercury that infants were exposed to in their 22 vaccinations in the first 18 months. Turns out the levels would be considered extremely toxic for adults, let alone children. And keep in mind that infants do not have a blood brain barrier that is able to keep this mercury out. With this in mind, does anyone think that the rapid increase in ADD/ADHD and autism might be related to this neurotoxic exposure in susceptible infants???

Predicted Mercury Concentrations in Hair From Infant Immunizations: Cause for Concern.

IDDM 3 Years After Hemophilus Influenza B (HiB) Immunization – (08-12-02)

May 19, 2013 by James Bogash

Type 1 Diabetes 3 Years After Hemophilus Influenza B (HiB) Immunization

This is an example of one of those article that proves that immunizations are not always (and actually, rarely) benign. Studies like this are scattered throughout the medical literature and can sometimes be difficult to track down. But they are there. These findings need to be disclose to EVERY parent before their child is vaccinated. Let the parent make a decision with true informed consent. I believe we would start seeing lowered rates of immunizations if parents really knew these immunizations had the potential for serious adverse side effects.

Thimerosal-Free Vaccines – (10-23-00)

May 5, 2013 by James Bogash

Thimerosal-Free Vaccines

I still find it strange that, although the experts state that there is no harm in using mercury containing preservatives in vaccines, they are being phased out. First of all, with the sheer volume of vaccines that a infant receives by the age of 4, a substantial amount of mercury is actually delivered to the developing child. Is it any wonder that some parents opt not to have their child vaccinated?? Second, this change away from thimerosal is not a cheap process…there is NO way the pharmaceuticals would undertake such a drastic change without good reason…

Clinician Reviews 10(8):95-96, 2000 How much mercury will our infants continue to absorb from vaccines that contain the mercury-containing preservative thimerosal? A recent joint statement from an alliance of four major health organizations reports the progress drug manufacturers have made in eliminating or reducing thimerosal content in the vaccination regimen. Findings from research to determine infant blood levels of mercury from vaccines that contain thimerosal have been contradictory. Preliminary data from one collaborative investigation involving the National Institutes of Health, the University of Rochester in New York, and the Bethesda Naval Hospital in Maryland indicated that “a very small number of term infants who had received thimerosal-containing vaccines had mercury blood levels less than 2.0 µg/L. Yet another recent study published in the Journal of Pediatrics revealed mercury levels exceeding 2.9 µg/L in nine of 15 premature, very low—birth weight infants who were immunized against hepatitis B before age 1 week.

Effect of Pneumovax II vaccination in high-risk individuals – (10-17-02)

Effect of Pneumovax II vaccination in high-risk individuals

The review article predicts only a 30% response to vaccine against the bacteria Pneumococci in high risk adults. You can assume that this response would drop even further in the general population. However, don’t start thinking that this would effect a nationwide push for mass vaccination. I would personally put my money on lifestyle changes designed to support and stimulate the immune system.

Expansion of Eligibility for Influenza Vaccine for Children’s Program – (10-17-02)

Expansion of Eligibility for Influenza Vaccine for Children’s Program

I’m sorry, but the arrogance of medicine never ceases to amaze me. For the entire history of man, our immune systems, with complexity and wisdom modern science can only dream about, have dealt with countless assaults by viruses, bacteria and foreign chemicals. But now we feel that this is not good enough–we have to immunize everyone whether they are at “risk” or not. Thank you…I feel much better having vented…

Need for Mass Hepatitis A Vaccination of Indian Children – (10-24-02)

April 28, 2013 by James Bogash

Need for Mass Hepatitis A Vaccination of Indian Children

Hmmm….a worldwide organization suggesting that Hep A vaccine is unnecessary because most children have antibodies to the virus by age 10. And yet, here in the US, we are pushing hard to vaccinate everyone against Hep A (and B for that matter…just to ensure that those tiny little IV drug users don’t get exposed via their sexual promiscuity…). Does this seem contradictory? We need to realize that our children are being USED in an attempt to prevent Hep A in adults. The vaccination has nothing to do with preventing the disease in children. In children the disease is hardly noticeable and self limiting. The truth would be nice for our parents–then let them decide if they still want their kids vaccinated.

Bulletin of the World Health Organization 2002;80:728-731.

There may not be a need for universal vaccination of Indian children against hepatitis A, as a vast majority develop protective antibodies by 10 years of age, researchers from India report in the September Bulletin of the World Health Organization. Improvement in standards of living has led to a decreased prevalence of protective antibodies among children in various parts of the world. The result is an increased predisposition to severe forms of hepatitis A, but this mainly occurs in adults, Dr. Yogesh Batra and colleagues from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in Delhi note. The paucity of specific data on hepatitis A seroprevalence in Indian children prompted the investigators to undertake a study of 500 school children between the ages of 10 and 17 years. The researchers tested for anti-hepatitis A antibodies using enzyme-linked immuno-sorbent assay (ELISA). A detailed clinical and biochemical evaluation was also conducted. Antibodies to hepatitis A were detected in 486 children (97.2%), indicating exposure to the virus, the researchers report. Anti-hepatitis A seroprevalence was 98.6% in children aged 10-12 years, 94.8% in children aged 13-14 years and 98.3% in children aged 15-17 years. There was no difference in anti-hepatitis A seroprevalence between boys and girls, Dr. Batra and colleagues report. A decline in the anti-hepatitis A seroprevalence among children is likely to result in an increase in incidence of hepatitis A infection among adults, Dr. Batra and colleagues warn. However, the incidence of hepatitis A in their hospital has more or less remained static between 1992 and 2000, so it is likely that anti-hepatitis A seroprevalence has changed little over the same period, the investigators believe. Similar results have been noted in other developing countries, where improvements in living conditions have not translated into a decline in the anti-hepatitis A seroprevalence, Dr. Batra comments. Thus, in endemic countries like India, where “exposure to hepatitis A virus is virtually universal” among children and the incidence of hepatitis A infection among adults has remained static, “mass vaccination against hepatitis A virus may not be cost-effective” or necessary, the Delhi team asserts.
