Glucose Tolerance during Moderate Alcohol Intake
This article suggests that moderate alcohol intake can increase insulin sensitivity. The key word here is moderation. I would recommend the use of red wine to the tune of 1-2 glasses several times per week. Red wine has the additional benefits from the reservatrol; a bioflavonoid that has been shown to lower risk of CVD as well as certain types of cancer.
