Another big long title and the overall article is not much clearer. Overall, bile salts are produced by the liver and stored in the gall bladder until released by stimulation from a fatty meal. Bile salts have traditionally only been viewed as substances used to emulsify the fats and aid in digestion. That view has been expanding and now includes the findings that bile salts have some immunosupressive effects.
