WHICH B VITAMIN CAN CUT COLON CANCER RISK IN HALF?

WHICH B VITAMIN CAN CUT COLON CANCER RISK IN HALF?  There has been some confusion over folic acid’s effect on the risk of colon cancer. Sometimes it protects, sometimes it increases the risk.  Overall, it seems like folic acid, if used before the development of colon cancer, protects.  If used after the beginnings of precancerous growth has begun, it increases.  It may also depend heavily upon your genetic makeup (specifically the MTHFR enzyme–which CAN be checked easily).

This study looks at another B vitamin that is important is some of the same pathways as folic acid-B6 and finds that higher levels in the blood lower risk by half.  So, a good quality multi (no one-a-day types), good quality diet w/ a blend of soluble and insoluble fiber and an overall anti-cancer lifestyle will likely cut your risk dramatically.
