Probiotics / healthy bacteria. I remain stunned at how little respect mainstream medicine gives to just how important having the right bacteria in our bodies is.

The research on probiotics is extensive and ranges from allergies to obesity to autoimmune conditions to digestive compaints to liver problems. Antibiotics decimate our normal flora. After hundreds of thousands of yrs developing a commensal relationship w/ our bugs, we somehow decide that wiping them out indiscriminately is ok.

The bottom line is that we should avoid antibiotics unless ABSOLUTELY necessary, & always replace with probiotics (should take at least 20-40 Billion / day for several wks to replace) if used.
