I've had some separate issues w/ Isagenix in the past, so I don't necessarily look favorably on them. Basically, to suggest that this product can protect telomeres is a little presumptious--it basically has a blend of small amounts of multiple antioxidants and botanical substances, but nothing that has been able to show that the formula does what it says it does.

I am taking a supplement to slow telomere shortening called Product B. This company is working with the leading scientists to develop Product B. Have you heard of Product B?

If you following some of the links in the post, you can see some of the earlier studies that demonstrated ways to slow telomere shortening.

I had breast cancer when I was 44 in 1989. I found it myself less than a year after a mammogram.
I refuse to do annual mammograms and always have to argue about it. I try to be firm and not be scared into doing it. When I had one after two years in 2010, they found a microscopic thing that was probably always there, but I had to repeat the mammogram a few weeks later, and then have an ultrasound. Try as I might not to worry, it was very stressful. I had two ultrasounds showing no changes in the spot. So I refused to do another mammogram in a year. Once again a big battle and I was told to get another ultrasound. I did although I waited 3 months to do it, and again no change.
I feel myself that I would not want to treat a microscopic spot since I do all the things recommended to prevent cancer and I trust my body to be able to control small cancers. But such a battle I have to go through over and over with ignorant doctors.

Now I'm wondering if the youthful look that a lot of vegetarians have doesn't come from eating whole, unprocessed, (usually) raw fruits and veggies///

I frequently recommend 10,000 IU/day of Vitamin D--whenever someone tests under 30. We use Metagenics D--5,000 IU in one small oil perle that seems to be well absorbed. I myself started at a blood level of 30 and took 5,000/day for awhile, which only raised by level to 37 after 6 months. so I bumped it to 10,000/day and after a year my level had reached 75, so I dropped to 5,000. For some folks 5,000/day seems to be enough to optimize D levels, but much lower takes a long time.
