Caffeine Ingestion Decreases Glucose Disposal

Not that coffee is a part of any healthy lifestyle, but this is another reason to avoid it. This study finds that coffee inhibits insulin’s ability to clear glucose from the bloodstream. This ties in with the fact that caffeine is known to prod the adrenal glands (need that 6th cup in the morning before you can face the day???…), and adrenal hormones like epinephrine (adrenaline) are designed to keep glucose in the bloodstream for rapid energy use as we run from the sabre-toothed tiger…
