Hawthorn is an herb that has been used extensively for many cardiac conditions for literally hundreds of years. This study indicates that it can now be added to the list of nutrients/herbs for high cholesterol. This would go along with avoidance of refined carbs, saturated fats, increased intake of nuts and other sources of monounsaturated fats, niacin, exercise and possibly red chinese yeast.
